Tom Beckbe and Mossy Oak were both born from the hardwood bottoms along the Tombigbee River. Given the shared roots, along with a mutual passion for the outdoors, conservation, and tradition, a collaboration was almost inevitable. We’re pleased that day has arrived with a limited run of our acclaimed outerwear and field gear in Mossy Oak Original Bottomland.
Turkey Vests are inherently idiosyncratic, like the people who wear them. This is our entry into the great canon of turkey vests.
In front, you’ll find two small zippered slip pockets along the top of the vest’s two panels, sized for diaphragm calls and other small items. MOLLE loops are positioned diagonally to accommodate locator calls, strikers, spare shells, and the like. On the hunter’s right side, a slip cinch pocket will hold a portable Thermacell, and a zippered pocket holds up to three friction calls. On the hunter’s left side, two horizontal pockets snap and cinch to securely (and quietly) hold a box call and hedge clippers. Inside, zippered mesh pockets on both sides securely hold valuables and other notions.
The entire vest adjusts vertically and horizontally with cotton webbing, fitting almost all sizes. The front closes with a silent, magnetic Fidlock buckle. The shoulder yoke evenly distributes weight, while interior spacer mesh padding adds cushion and breathability in warm weather. The rear foam seat cushion stows with a magnetic Fidlock buckle, is fully adjustable to accommodate most sizes, and is fully removable from the vest if no cushion is preferred.
Our turkey vest is made with an 8.25oz waxed shelter cloth from the legendary Halley Stevensons in Scotland, famous for fabrics with durable weatherproofing. This unique fabric coating provides protection from the elements and, with proper care, will preserve the lifespan of the vest indefinitely.
Our turkey vest is available in the camouflage synonymous with spring turkey hunting: Mossy Oak Original Bottomland.
