Description

The Women's Berkshire Coat is the newest addition to our collection of weatherproof waxed cotton jackets for women and is our most substantial coat yet. This durable, weatherproof waxed cotton coat is quilted with revolutionary HD Wool, a naturally breathable insulation made with wool (75%) and compostable biopolymers (25%). Built with all the proven durability that Tom Beckbe waxed cotton jackets are known for.

The Women's Berkshire Coat has a 5.5 ounce waxed cotton outer shell from the legendary Halley Stevensons mill in Scotland. Finished with an Eco Wax that provides a sleek and shiny appearance, and excellent water and wind proof characteristics. A cotton liner inspired by Alabama red clay adds a touch of color to the interior, and an interior collar stand lined with soft corduroy provides welcome protection from the cold.

The Berkshire features a classic diamond-quilted design and a longer silhouette, with a removable waist belt for a flattering fit. The detachable quilted hood features an adjustable drawcord for added coverage when needed. Antique brass zipper and snap closures complete this practical, enduring outer layer.

Care Instructions

Your garment's thin waxed coating resists liquids and makes it relatively easy to clean. Waxed cotton should not be machine washed or dry cleaned and should be kept away from hot water and harsh detergents that will remove the wax coating. When spots occur, use a damp rag or soft bristle brush to gently buff out the stained area. If spots are particularly stubborn, use a castile soap and rinse with lukewarm water. Re-wax the area with our reproofing wax and hang to air dry in a warm place.

Generally, rinse dirt and debris by hand with cold water and air dry. Do not iron. Do not bleach. Do not dry clean. Do not machine wash. Do not use artificial heat to dry, expose to open flames, or hang on radiators.
