Turkey Vest in Mossy Oak Original Bottomland

Turkey vests are inherently idiosyncratic, like the people who wear them and the wild turkey itself. This is our entry into the great canon of turkey vests. 

Tom Beckbe founder Radcliff Menge killed his first turkey in 1993 near the banks of the Tombigbee River wearing Mossy Oak. And he’s worn Mossy Oak on every turkey hunt since then. Given the shared origins of Tom Beckbe and Mossy Oak along the Tombigbee River, our turkey vest was only ever coming in one camouflage pattern. It’s synonymous with turkey hunting, conservation, and stewardship. That pattern is Mossy Oak Original Bottomland. 

Two small zippered slip pockets are located along the top of the vest’s two front panels, sized for diaphragm calls and other small items. Double MOLLE loops are positioned diagonally to accommodate locator calls, strikers, spare shells, and the like. On the hunter’s left side, a slip cinch pocket securely holds a portable Thermacell, and flapped slip pocket holds up to three friction calls with interior organization to keep them separated. On the hunter’s right side, two horizontal pockets snap and cinch to securely (and quietly) hold box calls, hedge clippers, strikers, and such. On the interior of the vest, zippered mesh pockets on both sides securely hold valuables and other notions.

The entire vest adjusts vertically and laterally with cotton webbing, fitting almost all body sizes. The front closes with a silent, magnetic Fidlock buckle. The shoulder yoke evenly distributes weight, while interior spacer mesh padding adds cushion and breathability in warm weather. The rear foam seat cushion stows with a magnetic Fidlock buckle, is fully adjustable to accommodate most sizes, and is fully removable from the vest if no cushion is preferred.

Our turkey vest is made with an 8.25oz waxed shelter cloth from the legendary Halley Stevensons in Scotland, famous for fabrics with durable weatherproofing. This unique fabric coating provides protection from the elements and, with proper care, will preserve the lifespan of the vest indefinitely.
