Description

Classic silhouette paired with our trademark durability.

Inspired by hardworking silhouettes of the American West, our Chatom Jacket builds on Tom Beckbe’s tradition of timeless, durable waxed canvas jackets.

The Chatom Jacket's 8oz waxed, weatherproof shelter cloth shell develops a rich patina over time. Two hand warmer pockets are perfect for cold days, and two chest pockets secure with hidden snaps. Set-in sleeves provide flattering structure through the shoulders, while our hallmark bi-swing back provides a full-range of motion. A cotton liner inspired by Alabama red clay adds a touch of color to the interior of this men's waxed jacket. The sleeves are lined with a smooth polyester twill that glides over layers with ease. Available in three colors: Tobacco, Rye Brown, and Wheat. Made in the U.S.A. with imported materials. Color note: because the wheat colorway is so light, these jackets have a military brown liner instead of our traditional red clay liner.

While slightly trimmer and shorter in length than our acclaimed Tensaw Jacket, you should take the same size Chatom as your Tensaw. For Tall sizes, add 2" to the total length and 1" to the sleeve length. Touch up dry or worn areas of your Tom Beckbe waxed jacket with our reproofing wax.

Care Instructions

Your garment's thin waxed coating resists liquids and makes it relatively easy to clean. Waxed cotton should not be machine washed or dry cleaned and should be kept away from hot water and harsh detergents that will remove the wax coating. When spots occur, use a damp rag or soft bristle brush to gently buff out the stained area. If spots are particularly stubborn, use a castile soap and rinse with lukewarm water. Re-wax the area with our reproofing wax and hang to air dry in a warm place.

Generally, rinse dirt and debris by hand with cold water and air dry. Do not iron. Do not bleach. Do not dry clean. Do not machine wash. Do not use artificial heat to dry, expose to open flames, or hang on radiators.
