Description

A classic mid-length waxed jacket ready for the field and everyday.

A classic mid-length men's waxed jacket, the Shallowford Jacket is the newest edition to our line of waxed cotton outdoor apparel. The Shallowford Jacket’s 8oz waxed, weatherproof shelter cloth develops a rich patina over time. The Shallowford Jacket drapes right below your waist, with set-in sleeves to provide flattering structure through the shoulders. Gusseted underarms and a bi-swing back provide mobility. Large, pleated front pockets offer ample storage, secure with snap flaps, and conceal lined handwarmer pockets that sit comfortably behind the main front pocket. This hunting coat's center front closes with a durable antique brass zipper and snap storm flap. The sleeves are lined with a smooth polyester twill that glides over layers with ease. The Shallowford is complete with a nod to our Alabama roots: a cotton liner inspired by Alabama red clay. Available in Tobacco, Rye Brown and Classic Camo colors. Made in the U.S.A. with imported materials.

The Shallowford Jacket has a classic fit. It is slightly shorter than a Tensaw Jacket, and it is a bit longer and fuller in the waist than a Chatom Jacket. Most wearers should take the same size Shallowford as their Tensaw and Chatom. For Tall sizes, add 2" to the total length and 1" to the sleeve length. Touch up dry or worn areas of your Tom Beckbe waxed jacket with our reproofing wax.

Care Instructions

Your garment's thin waxed coating resists liquids and makes it relatively easy to clean. Waxed cotton should not be machine washed or dry cleaned and should be kept away from hot water and harsh detergents that will remove the wax coating. When spots occur, use a damp rag or soft bristle brush to gently buff out the stained area. If spots are particularly stubborn, use a castile soap and rinse with lukewarm water. Re-wax the area with our reproofing wax and hang to air dry in a warm place.

Generally, rinse dirt and debris by hand with cold water and air dry. Do not iron. Do not bleach. Do not dry clean. Do not machine wash. Do not use artificial heat to dry, expose to open flames, or hang on radiators.
