Tenth Anniversary

Radcliff Menge

In 2015, Tom Beckbe was only an idea, built around a single product – the Tensaw Jacket – and a larger desire for meaningful, lasting outdoor gear focused on America’s interior. That idea has resonated far greater than I ever would have imagined. And the Tensaw Jacket has been our cornerstone. This fall we’re excited to celebrate our tenth anniversary not only with a limited edition Tensaw Jacket, but with the broadest and deepest collection of outdoor apparel and gear that we’ve ever offered.

We’ve certainly come a long way from the first run of Tensaw Jackets, marked Lot X (for “experimental”), that arrived unceremoniously on our front porch in Birmingham ten years ago. The heartburn that came with those jackets subsided only after an email blast to friends and family produced a sale almost immediately to an old high school friend. Tom Beckbe was officially underway, and that initial enthusiasm has been with us ever since. Tom Beckbe truly wouldn’t be anywhere without the support of friends old and new.

As we look forward to the next ten years, we have been reflecting on how to give back to the larger outdoor community and to the natural environment we enjoy so much. Our partnership with Ducks Unlimited, launched in July of this year, is one tangible step, and it is just the beginning of our efforts to support habitat and wildlife conservation.

With fall in full swing, hunting seasons underway, and the Holidays around the corner, it’s a wonderful time of year to thank each and every customer, supporter, and employee for a great ride so far. I believed in 2015 – and still believe now – that you can enjoy the outdoors with fewer, better things. We hope to be a part of the lasting memories you create outside.

For the Hunt,

Radcliff Menge
