Not Just Any Wax

Jemison Thorsby
We have been producing traditional waxed cotton jackets and bags for discerning sportsmen since 2015. Prized for durability and longevity, waxed cotton fabrics draw on the natural performance of wax to repel moisture and preserve the integrity of the material’s fibers. Not all waxed fabrics are created equal. And that’s why we only use the best.

Tom Beckbe & Halley Stevensons: Partners in Weatherproofing

We use waxed cotton fabrics exclusively from Halley Stevensons Ltd., who for more than a century has produced exceptional weatherproof fabrics from their factory in Dundee, Scotland. Densely woven from fine, long-staple cotton, they are naturally durable and comfortable to wear. When treated with Halley’s proprietary wax, they provide superior weatherproofing protection from the elements. And they take on a unique appearance with wear and abuse in the elements, distinct to their owner.

"The weatherproof performance of waxed cotton fabrics can be maintained indefinitely."

Halley’s fabrics are, by their nature, inherently sustainable. The waxed compounds themselves are composed of natural and upcycled materials that are biodegradable. Unlike modern synthetic fabrics, the weatherproof performance of waxed cotton fabrics can be maintained indefinitely through simple reproofing treatments. And the reproofing process has an added benefit: it also preserves the integrity of the fabric indefinitely.

We are proud to partner with Halley Stevensons and build on their legacy of producing low-impact, sustainable fabrics with products that stand the test of time.
