Tom Beckbe and Mossy Oak were both born from the hardwood bottoms along the Tombigbee River. Given the shared roots, along with a mutual passion for the outdoors, conservation, and tradition, a collaboration was almost inevitable. We’re pleased that day has arrived with a limited run of our acclaimed outerwear and field gear in Mossy Oak Original Bottomland.
We designed our Waterfowl Strap Vest with a suite of thoughtful upgrades from the waterfowl vests of yesterday. First we started with a shell material that we know and love: waxed shelter cloth. A weatherproof fabric with proven durability, this 8.25oz waxed canvas has the added benefit of developing a rich luster and unique patina as you use and abuse your vest.
Next we added two oversized handwarmer pockets lined with a quick-drying, synthetic sherpa fleece that sit flush against your chest, giving those cold, wet hands refuge. Then we added enough pockets and attachment points to comfortably hold everything you need in the field without encumbering movement.
Two large front bellow pockets are reinforced with a nylon lining and hold a generous supply of shells. Two front secure zippered pockets are also lined with nylon, providing a nice home for your phone and other valuables. Large webbing loops along the bottom front allow you to clip carabiners and drag decoy spreads through the water, leaving your hands free to carry additional gear. Both chests have two elastic shell-loops and an oversized loop for clipping calls, e-collar receivers, and other field tools.
This waxed shelter cloth vest has fully adjustable shoulder and side straps, coming in one size that fits almost everyone—short, tall, big, and small. The shoulder and side straps are anchored in the back with a fully-padded yoke that has an oversized, solid brass d-ring to safely hang your vest or to attach additional gear. Our cotton webbing is soft and comfortable, lying flat against your body with just the right amount of grip to keep the hardware locked and your vest positioned where you like it. The webbing is also treated to dry quickly and resist mildewing. The center front closes with a durable, heavy-gauge antique brass zipper.
Whether you are wading flooded timber, laid out in a dry field, or concealed in blind, we’ve done all the thinking so you can make the most of your precious time outdoors.
