Phil Glaize: As a child, I worked in the orchard in the summer times. I never knew I was going to grow apples, in fact I worked for a large regional bank fresh out of college. I haven't looked back since.
Living in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia is truly special. Not everybody wants to do it, and I'm very glad of that. My real goal has been to send the business onto my sons, who will be the fourth generation. So that they can have a crack at preserving the land, as we have been able to do so far. The outdoors is something that I need, and we'll always be able to get as long as we're growing apples.
